Tastings has catered locally for as long as it has been open; for years Bill’s one day off a week was often spent on a Sunday catering job. These days the house runs small, so catering runs by consultation and calendar, not volume. It works the way everything here works: a conversation first, then from-scratch cooking matched to wine chosen bottle by bottle from the shop, at five dollars over the shelf price.
Call or write. What's the occasion, how many, what do they like, what do you want to spend. The same three-questions ritual, scaled up.
From scratch, seafood-forward and oak-grilled, in the register of the weekly dinners: fried oysters, crabmeat casserole, duck, tenderloin, the seasonal board.
Chosen from a shop of thousands of bottles, every one tasted first — at retail plus a few dollars, not restaurant markup. The cheese case travels too.
For parties that come to the house instead: the dining room hosts winemaker-dinner-style evenings for your own crowd, the way the Wine Club did for four decades.

A private dinner at the big table, Bill presenting.
Good to know
Booked by phone or email only. It is a two-person house, so dates are limited. Ask early; you will get a conversation, not a brochure. If it’s a wine-first evening you want, ask about building it around a theme, the way the weekly dinners are.
